Dakota came into our care a day before/after another one of our joeys, Penny, and they have been inseparable ever since. Where Penny is quiet and peaceful, Dakota is independent and bold. We have to keep an extra eye on her during feeding time, as can become a bit of a thief, always on the lookout for more milk! She’s a leader in the triage area of our retreat, and the other joeys love hanging around with her and Penny.

Fun fact: Female kangaroos are often referred to as ‘blueflyers’ due to the bluer tinge to their fur, as we can see here with Dakota!
